The Challenge
"We've been around since 1983, but a lot of people in the region don't know us." That was Alexandre Vallas's observation when we first met.
Yet La Charpenterie des Bois Noirs has what few carpenters have: a 1,925 m² workshop and a CNC timber-cutting centre. It designs, cuts, assembles and roofs everything itself.

But nobody knew it. Its website no longer displayed properly: duplicated menus, no layout, a single tagline. Its Google listing was incomplete. Anyone looking for a carpenter in the area found the competitors instead.
And as Alexandre put it: "We never talk about the cutting centre."
Their rarest asset was also the most invisible.
The Aurea Strategy
Brand & story
With Aurélien and Alexandre Vallas (the managers), we started from one question: why would a customer choose Bois Noirs over another carpenter? Their customers build or renovate in timber and dread one thing: coordinating a carpenter, a roofer and a zinc worker, then watching each one blame the other at the first problem. The strength of La Charpenterie des Bois Noirs: it has every skill in-house, design office, cutting centre, workshop and on-site installation. One single point of contact, from the plans to the last tile. Hence their signature: "Everything under one roof".
Another strength the company wasn't using: half of its business is for local councils (market halls, public facilities, municipal buildings). Demanding projects with strict specifications. For a private customer, it's the best proof of reliability.

What makes this project special: the two brothers also run Charpenterie Extrat, in the same area. So that the two companies don't compete with each other, we gave each one its own identity (see the Charpenterie Extrat project).
Finding what makes you unique is the heart of what we do at Aurea. It's what lets you stand out where everyone else looks the same.
The website
The old website displayed as a raw page, with duplicated menus and no layout. Online, form matters as much as substance: a neglected website makes people doubt how serious a company is, even when its work is flawless. The new site lacharpenteriedesboisnoirs.com is designed so that customers understand in seconds why they should choose Bois Noirs. The home page and every service page share three landmarks:
- a "Why choose La Charpenterie des Bois Noirs" section that spells out their advantages in black and white;
- an "Our method" section showing they master everything from A to Z, from the design office to installation;
- their certifications (RGE, Qualibat, PEFC), to reassure before the first call.

Each of the 24 projects has its own page, with every photo of the job, and the type of work and the town in the title and the URL. Bois Noirs can therefore appear on Google when someone looks for a carpenter in their town (local SEO). And every documented project proves to Google and to AI assistants that the company has real, verifiable experience in the field.
On mobile, a "Call" or "Request a quote" button stays visible at all times: the moment the customer is convinced, all they have to do is tap.
One page is entirely dedicated to the cutting centre, for a second audience: carpenters who outsource the cutting of their timber frames.

The Google listing
When you search for a carpenter nearby, Google first shows the map and business listings, even before websites. For a local company, the Google listing is often the very first impression. Bois Noirs's listing was incomplete: we rebuilt it entirely (opening hours, address, photos of recent projects). Above all, Google reads the description and the list of services to decide which searches to show the listing for. So we wrote them with the words customers actually type (carpenter, roofer, zinc worker, timber frame) and the towns in the area. The result: Google now repeats their message in its own summary of the company, describing the listing as "a single point of contact for your carpentry work".
Customer reviews remain one of the very top ranking factors. We wrote a template message the company sends at the end of every job to ask for a review: collecting reviews becomes a habit, no longer a matter of chance.

Social media
Facebook and Instagram pages created, with 6 launch posts, each designed for a specific role:
- The team photo, to put a human face on the company. It's the kind of content that shares itself: everyone knows someone in the picture and passes it on to their own network. For this post alone: 30 shares and 28 new followers.
- A video of the cutting centre: the machine is technical, so the video shows concretely what it does, and the caption explains why it's an advantage for customers.
- A carousel on a landmark project: the Renaison leisure centre, with its roof in coloured glazed tiles, a first in the region.
- A signature carousel presenting all the skills mastered in-house: the direct translation of "Everything under one roof".

- The brand film: on 11 September, Extrat, the sister company, celebrated its 130th anniversary in front of more than 200 guests. We conceived and scripted a film shared by both companies, with a clear goal: show how they complement each other, and use Extrat's reputation and contact book to introduce Bois Noirs, smaller and less visible in the area. 9,000 views on the page.
- The thank-you video: edited by Aurea from footage of the evening, where all the trucks and machines of both companies were on display. It thanks the guests and lets those who weren't there experience the event. 13,000 views: the most-viewed post after the team photo.
The Results
Bois Noirs shows what a well-defined brand changes: when the message is clear, every channel carries it further.
In one month, the company went from a website that worked against it to a complete and consistent online presence:
- A real success on social media: more than 50,000 cumulative impressions on Facebook in one month, and a page that started from zero already has 119 followers.
- A Google listing that works: 144 views and 97 interactions in September. It already brings as many visitors to the site as Google search.
- A website people actually read: 847 Google impressions in the first month, and visitors who stay more than three and a half minutes on average.
Organic search takes 3 to 6 months to establish service pages on Google: a full SEO review will be carried out at 6 months.
